I had worked with Paul a few times over the years, we always ended up chatting about how we used humour and laughter in our personal and professional life’s. Paul worked for Camden Social Services whilst putting his Lilly Savage show together and used his skill with humour to get through some tough times.

Some years later we would meet on the set of BBC’s Celebrity Driving School. Paul was going to learn in a auto so he didn’t brake any of his nails.

I was the behind the scenes motoring expert as well as coaching some of the celebrities on set. I hold the record for passing every single driving test and when I left the army in 1980 was contracted to our great RAC to go out to companies and motoring organisations to give talks on Highway-code advanced motoring and how to combat road rage which was all the rage then, it was then that I found adding humour to motoring anecdote’s kept a captive audience attention longer.
