As a Wellbeing speaker presenter keynote speaker audience members sometimes ask about diet – well I’m not a dietitian but this is my relationship to food
Five day fast
Thats right no food for five days . I had a laughter shake for breakfast, spread on body laughter cream for lunch and had a laughter feast for super
I do this once a year not to loose weight but for the incredible mind, body and spirt transformation
I think the most important thing to understand is when the body is burning sugar and how it changes to burning fat, once you have this in your mind it’s a game changer to the way you eat and your relationship to food.
The science is incredible on how the body heals itself, just Google it , processing food takes up nearly all of the bodies energy, it’s in recent years junk food has become so cheap and is everywhere that the world has a food problem, The body is used to having time off to heal itself not keep processing food
Day 1: The Switch Begins
Your blood sugar and insulin levels start to drop, signalling the body to shift from using carbs to tapping into fat stores for energy. This is the start of nutrient sensing—your body becomes more efficient at managing resources. (Do one day once a month to get used to fasting)
Day 2: Autophagy Activation
Old or damaged cells begin to break down and recycle—a cellular spring clean called autophagy. Your body increasingly turns to stored fat for fuel, kickstarting visible fat loss (science has shown you don’t burn muscle just fat amazing)
Day 3: Deep Adaptation
You’re now in full fat-burning mode. Behind the scenes, stem cells—your body’s internal repair crew—may start activating. This is where the real metabolic magic begins. (You are now buzzing)
Day 4: Regenerative Mode
Inflammation reduces further, and many people feel a boost in energy and mental clarity. This phase supports deeper repair across tissues, hormones, and immune pathways.(the last thing your thinking of is food)
Day 5: Gut healing, shape change and transition
Inner healing continues, including the regeneration of the gut lining—an effect linked with reduced intestinal permeability (“leaky gut”). You’ll notice visible changes in skin lustre and body composition. A carefully structured transition menu helps you reintroduce food gently while preserving the results of your time when you start eating…I like a small fatty steak)
Don’t fast without chatting to a health/nutriionlist
